Label: Pimalou

Pimalou is a small independent label based in Brittany, France, featuring the duo D'AC. The emphasis is on “hand crafted” recordings of very high quality, which give the listener a "live" experience with the artists, in a space where the subtlety and detail of the performance can be appreciated.

D'AC is an unusual duo consisting of the singer Gillian O'Donovan and bass guitarist Etienne Callac.

A bewitching voice and accompaniment rich in harmonic variations, the balance is delicate and improvisation plays an important part. The recording of D'AC reveals them stripped to the essentials, totally without artifice, responding to the moment with tangible emotion.
